Brazil F-X2 finalists selected

On October 1, 2008, Brazil has decided on its 3 finalists for the Fighter Replacement Program: Boeing’s F/A 18E/F Super Hornet, Dassault’s Rafale and BAE’s JAS-39 Gripen.
The Brazilian Air Force also states that the procurement will be for 36 aircraft with deliveries set to commence in 2014.
Three other contenders failed to be selected: EADS Eurofighter Typhoon, Lockheed Martin’s F-16BR, and Sukhoi’s SU-35.
